Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Raids In Plywood Industry,

Agriculture Minister S. Gurmit Singh Khudian, Administrative Secretary Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Shri Basant Garg IAS, Director Agriculture Shri Jaswant Singh and Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Sardar Ankurjit Singh, IAS, under the orders of Joint Director Agriculture, Eng. Jagdish Singh Ji and Chief Agriculture Officer Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Shri Rakesh Kumar Sharma Ji, a raid was conducted by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar at Gandhi Plywood Industry Chandigarh Road Tandoh.

During which it was found that agricultural grade semi-coated urea was being used in the plywood factory which is a violation of the Fertilizer Control Order 1985.

During the raid, it was found that 4 full bags of agricultural grade semi-coated urea and 230 used empty bags were found at Gandhi Plywood Factory, Chandigarh Road, Tandoh.

After this, the Kathgarh Police Station was informed on the spot and a police party was called. Taking action on the spot, Agriculture Development Officer, Fertilizer Inspector, Balachaur Harpreet Singh registered a case against the above-mentioned plywood factory and Gandhi Plywood Industry owner Ritu Bansal, resident of Haryana, Bhupinder Bansal, resident of Punjab, Ram Gopal Bansal, resident of Punjab and Harish Kumar, resident of Punjab at Kathgarh police station under Sections 25 and 35 (1)(a) of the Fertilizer Control Order 1985 and Sections 3 (2) (d) and 3 (2)(i) of the Essential Commodities Act 1955.

On this occasion, Engineer Jagdish Singh Joint Director of Agriculture and Shri Rakesh Kumar Sharma Chief Agriculture Officer Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar informed that if the semi-coated urea used for agricultural grade is used for industrial use, then it is a violation of the Fertilizer Control Order 1985 and if any other such case comes to light, strict legal action will be taken by the Punjab Government and the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department.

On this occasion, Vijay Maheshi Agriculture Development Officer, Raj Kumar A. E. Oh, ASI Harjinder Singh of Kathgarh police station and the police party of Kathgarh police station were present.
