Four buses of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) were damaged and slogans were written on them at the Amritsar bus stand on Friday night. The windscreens of three of these buses were damaged, while slogans were written on one bus plying on the Amritsar-Hamirpur route.

According to information, the affected buses include buses plying on the Amritsar-Bilaspur, Amritsar-Sujanpur and Amritsar-Jwalaji routes. HRTC Managing Director Nipun Jindal said, “The matter has been brought to the notice of Amritsar police.”

In Himachal, following the controversy over the clashes and fights between locals and Punjabi tourists and pilgrims in Himachal and subsequent incidents of damage to buses across Punjab, Himachal Transport had suspended 10 routes to Hoshiarpur, which have since been resumed.

He said that after parking the buses here at night, they go to the rest house. When they returned in the morning, they found the buses damaged. Giving information about this, a police officer said that a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint and with the help of CCTV cameras, a search is being carried out for the elements who broke the windows.
