Anderson-Tendulkar Test Series: India Won The Second Match & Equalized The Series 1-1

In the second match of ANDERSON-TENDULKAR TEST series, captain GILL added 430 runs, Akash Deep took 9 and Mohammad Shiraj took 7 wickets.

India won the second match of Anderson-Tendulkar series between India and England and equalized the series 1-1. England won the toss and decided to bowl first at Edgbaston ground in Birmingham.

Indian Team’s First Innings: After being invited to bat, the Indian team added 587 runs thanks to captain Subnam Gill 269, Ravindra Jadeja 89 and YBS Jaiswal 87 runs. England bowlers Shoaib Bashir 3, CR Woakes and JC Tongue dismissed 2-2 Indian batsmen.

■ English Team’s First Innings: The England team had a very bad start, losing 50-3 wickets by the end of the second day’s play and 84-3 wickets at the beginning of the third day’s play and was struggling with the threat of follow on. After which H Brook 158 and JL Smith 184* added 303 runs for the 6th wicket and removed the threat of follow on from the England team. The England team was all out after adding 407 runs. After which India got a significant lead of 180 runs. Indian bowler Mohammad Siraj dismissed 6 and Akash Deep 4 batsmen of England.

Indian Team’s First Innings: The Indian team declared its innings by adding 427-6 runs in the second innings thanks to the runs of Gill 161, Ravindra Jadeja 69, Rishabh Pant 65 and KL Rahul 55. After which the England team was given a target of 608 runs to win. England bowlers Shoaib Bashir and JC Tongue dismissed 2-2 Indian batsmen.

English Team’s First Innings: The England team had hoped to draw or lose the match shortly before the end of the 4th day’s play, they had lost 85-3 wickets by the end of the day’s play. After which the hopes of England’s victory on the 5th day were almost gone. By the first hour of the 5th day, the England team had reached the brink of defeat by losing 84-5 wickets. Which was averted for some time by JL Smith 88 but Akashdeep dismissed JL Smith and determined England’s defeat. Akashdeep dismissed 6 England batsmen and played a key role in India’s victory by 337 runs.

The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England is tied at 1-1.
