Apollo Tyres Becomes Team India’s New Jersey Sponsor for Next 2 Years

SNPNEWS.IN News Update, Sep 25: Over the past two decades, agreements with Team India’s jersey sponsors have often ended prematurely. Replacing the recent sponsor Dream11, India’s homegrown company Apollo Tyres will now officially sponsor the Test, ODI, and T20 jerseys of the BCCI.

As per the two-year agreement between BCCI and Apollo Tyres, Apollo secured the sponsorship for approximately ₹579 crore. According to sources, Apollo Tyres will pay the BCCI ₹4.5 crore per international match. The deal covers around 121 bilateral matches and 21 ICC tournament matches.

Several major companies were in the race for this bid, but Apollo Tyres outshone them all. Besides Apollo, Canva bid ₹544 crore, JK Cements offered ₹477 crore, and Birla Optus Paints initially showed interest but did not participate in the final bidding. Apollo won the BCCI’s trust by placing the highest bid.

This marks Apollo Tyres’ first major national cricket sponsorship. As the Indian cricket team is one of the most-watched teams globally, this deal will provide Apollo Tyres with significant global brand visibility. Over the next two years, Apollo’s name will feature prominently in every match, broadcast, and fan merchandise.

This is not just a sponsorship but a global partnership between Indian cricket and an Indian brand.
