
Last night, in a clash between two groups in the village of AAP Baghapurana MLA Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, one person died and 4-5 others were injured.
SNPNEWS.IN News (Gurmail Kamboj): In Sukhanand village of Punjab’s Moga district, which is the ancestral village of AAP MLA Amritpal Singh from the Bagha Purana Assembly constituency, a clash between two groups (families) in the village came to light on December 12 at around 8:30 PM.
According to information gathered from the spot, about 6 months ago, there was a dispute between the two groups (families) over some issue, which was resolved through a compromise by the village panchayat.
Yesterday, a fresh altercation broke out between family members of the deceased Sikandar Singh son of Major Singh and the accused, after which villagers gathered and calmed both sides. About half an hour after this incident, the accused, along with 30-40 individuals, attacked the family of the deceased, during which Sikandar Singh was seriously injured, and his son along with 4 others (including an elderly woman) sustained injuries.
According to gathered information, the accused broke the main doors of 7-8 houses, vandalized a motorcycle (related to the deceased’s family), and for about an hour, there was a naked display of goondaism. The accused cut off the electricity during the incident, creating an atmosphere of fear in the village. After the incident, the injured were taken to the hospital, where Sikandar Singh son of Major Singh was declared dead.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the SHO and constituency MLA Amritpal Singh arrived at the spot and made efforts to calm the situation. The constituency MLA and DSP, while providing information about the incident, said that the matter started from a mutual fight between children of both families (which happened about 6 months ago), after which a compromise was reached with mutual consent. The recent incident and clash occurred on the night of December 12, resulting in one death.
The DSP said that an FIR has been registered based on the statements of the victim family, 8 accused belonging to the village have been identified, and special teams have been formed to search for them. Action will also be taken against the unidentified individuals who accompanied the accused.
