Bihar Elections In Confusion Over NDA & Mahagathbandhan Seat Sharing

The Bihar assembly elections will be held on November 6 (121) and November 11 (122) and the results will be declared on November 14. The main contest is likely to be between the BJP alliance (NDA) and the Mahagathbandhan. AAP and Jan Suraj Party (of Prashant Kishor) are also in the fray.

SNPNEWS.IN News Update (Gurmail Kamboj) The dates of voting for the 243 seats of the Bihar assembly have been announced. The assembly elections will be held in 2 phases (November 6, November 11) and the results will be declared on November 14. The nomination of candidates for the first phase of voting has been fixed on October 17 and October 20 for the second phase.

The main contest in these elections is between the ruling alliance NDA (BJP, BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM, Rashtriya Lok Morcha) and the grand alliance (Congress, RJD, Congress, Left parties). AAP does not seem to have a special base in Bihar, but it and Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party have the ability to determine the victory or defeat of others in many seats.

In the NDA alliance, BJP and JD(U) have reached an agreement to field candidates in 101 seats each, LJP (Ram Vilas) 29, HAM 6 and RLM 6 seats. On which a controversy seems to be arising.

● Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha has openly said that “nothing is right in the NDA this time.” He was expecting more seats for his party.

● Jitan Ram Majhi also seems to be upset about the seat distribution.

● JD(U)’s Bhagalpur MP Ajay Kumar Mandal has resigned after not being given a ticket. This has increased tensions within the party.

● Prashant Kishor has declared that there is a “complete mess” in the NDA and Nitish Kumar will not become the Chief Minister again. He has predicted that JD(U) will win only 25 seats.

● Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the BJP workers, said that the alliance is strong by giving the slogan “United NDA, “United Bihar”. Work together, the NDA will form the coalition government.

On the other hand, the situation of the Mahagathbandhan (including RJD, Congress and Left parties) is very challenging. The Mahagathbandhan has not yet announced the official seat sharing, which is creating tension in the alliance. But the leaders are making claims of unity by saying that everything is fine.

● The Congress is demanding 65-70 seats, but the RJD is ready to give only 55-63 seats. Rahul Gandhi has spoken to Tejashwi Yadav and a meeting has been held in Delhi.

● The CPI(ML) has announced 18 candidates, but amid dissatisfaction over the seat sharing, it has said that it is ready to sacrifice even one seat.

● Vikashil Insan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni went to Delhi and held talks And said that “the alliance is a little sick”.

● Lalu Prasad Yadav has started distributing tickets to his preferred candidates, but the seat distribution is not being announced without being announced.

Tejashwi Yadav has announced to file nomination from Raghonpur and has invited supporters. He has promised that a law for government jobs will be made in every household within 20 days of forming the government. This has also been supported by the Congress.

Out of the 243 seats of the Bihar assembly, the alliance is likely to contest on about 153-160 seats. But RJD is willing to field candidates on 144-150, Congress 55-63, CPI(ML) 18, left parties 3-10 and others 5-10 seats, which is enough to create resentment and controversy.
