21-year-old Punjabi youth crashed his Freightliner truck into 8 vehicles on California’s Ontario Highway I-10 freeway, killing 3 people.
SNPNEWS.IN News (Gurmail Kamboj): On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, a extremely horrific accident occurred on Highway I-10 freeway in Ontario, California, USA, in which 3 people, including a 54-year-old elderly person, died and 4 people were seriously injured.
21-year-old Punjabi youth Jashanpreet Singh, who was driving a Freightliner truck under the influence of drugs, crashed into 4 semi-trucks, 2 pickup trucks, and 2 passenger cars on Ontario’s Highway I-10 freeway at 1:10 PM. In addition, he also ran over a mechanic who was changing a tire on the roadside. After this accident, a fire broke out in the vehicles, due to which a 54-year-old elderly person and 2 other individuals were burned to death, and 4 were injured.
Jashanpreet was arrested by California Highway Patrol (CHP) at the scene in a drugged/injured condition and imprisoned in West Valley Detention Center, Rancho Cucamonga.
The youth Jashanpreet, residing in Yuba City, California, entered the US illegally via Mexico in 2022 and was caught by Border Patrol in El Centro Sector in March 2022. He was released under the Biden Administration’s “Alternatives to Detention” (alternatives to arrest) policy.

After entering the US, he joined the trucking industry and obtained a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), despite being in illegal status. After the accident, ICE has placed a detainer on him for deportation.
Investigation is ongoing by CHP and ICE (Immigration Authorities). Officials said this accident could have been prevented if the driver was not under the influence of drugs.
According to the dashcam video of Jashanpreet’s Freightliner truck released by ABC7, Jashanpreet first collided with an SUV, after which he took 2 pickups, 1 car, and 4 semi-trucks into his grip. The accident was so horrific that Jashanpreet’s truck hit the mechanic changing a tire on the roadside, went to the edge, and barely stopped. A fire broke out in the accident-affected vehicles after the crash.
The dashcam video (exclusive by ABC7) shows that the truck made no attempt to stop and directly entered the traffic. This video proves there was no mechanical fault and no vehicle came in front; rather, the driver had completely lost control of the truck due to being under the influence of drugs, due to which he took 8 vehicles and 7 people into his grip, out of which 3 were burned to death in the fire.
After the accident, long traffic jams formed on the highway, causing the road to remain closed for hours.
