Chennai’s 2nd consecutive defeat: Rajasthan got their first win of the tournament. They decided to play the same team they played against KKR, but changed their bowling and batting order to get the win. This is the second consecutive defeat for CSK who are looking a bit weak this season.
In a thrilling encounter in Barsapara that went in favour of the home team, after getting Rachin Ravindra out for a duck. Rajasthan were given a blistering start by Nitish Rana who scored 81 runs off just 36 balls today, despite his team being bowled out for 182.
Chennai bowlers Noor Ahmed and Matheesha Pathirana took 2-2 dismissals for 28 runs each in their 4-4 overs.
Chennai’s 2nd consecutive defeat:
Ruturaj Gaikwad single-handedly led the Chennai batting, as he scored a blistering half-century amidst the team’s consistent wicket-losing. Wanindu Hasranga was the main destructive bowler for Rajasthan, as he took a wicket in each over and troubled the batsmen with his googlies. CSK needed 45 runs in the last three overs when Dhoni and Jaddu were at the crease. However, both the batsmen could only add five runs from Thikshan’s over.

In a close match, the stingy overs proved to be the difference as CSK eventually lost by six runs despite some excellent shots from Dhoni, Jadeja and Jamie Overton. The RR skipper, in a bold captaincy, used Sandeep Sharma in place of Jofra Archer in the last over, which proved to be the right move.
RR v CSK, Guwahati 2025: 20 needed off the final over with Dhoni and Jadeja at the crease, Sandeep bowls RR to a 6-run win.
