Daman Thind Bajwa demands cleaning of Sirhind Chow and Longowal Drain

Keeping in mind the upcoming rainy season, BJP State Secretary Daman Thind Bajwa has raised a demand for cleaning of Sirhind Chow and Longowal Drain passing through Sunam Udham Singh Wala from the Punjab government and the entire administration.

Daman Bajwa, who reached Sirhind Chow on Sunam-Sangrur Road, said that the days of June-July monsoons are approaching and till now the current Punjab government and the entire administration have not done anything about cleaning of Sirhind Chow and Longowal Drain.

Punjab News 2025: BJP Leaders Daman Thind Bajwa Met The Governor

Daman Bajwa said that during the June-monsoon season, when it rains in the entire Punjab, all the water collects and flows forward through this Sirhindi Chow. Due to the lack of cleaning of this Chow, the grass growing in it creates an obstacle in the passage of water and the water overflows and causes a flood-like situation. If this Chow and drain are cleaned on time, then the water will flow forward without any obstacle.

Daman Bajwa said that if the cleaning of Sirhindi Chow and Longowal Drain is not done properly and at the right time, then during the rainy days, the water will overflow and cause damage to our farmer brothers. The nearby villages and especially the city of Sunam Udham Singh Wala and the city of Longowal will have to bear the brunt of this overflow water due to the overflow of Longowal Drain.

Daman Bajwa said that this cleaning work should have been completed by now because when it rains and water stagnates in the canal, then cleaning cannot be done there. Cleaning can only be done when the canals and drains are dry.

Daman Bajwa has requested the entire administration and the current Punjab government and the leaders of the area of the current government that instead of making arrangements for cleaning during the rainy season later, the work of cleaning this Sirhindi canal and Longowal drain should be started on a war footing now in the remaining time so that cleaning is done before the rains and there is no obstruction in the flow of water and our farmer brothers and our city and village are saved from the big impact of water.

On this occasion, Makhan Sekh Sarpanch Akalgarh, Lali Sarpanch Chathe Nakte, Harjit Singh former Sarpanch, Tirlok Singh former Sarpanch, Gursevak Akalgarh, Rana Kaur Panch, Karnail Panch etc. were present.
