Father shoots dead 25-year-old tennis player, taunts from people for eating daughter’s earnings turned into reason for murder.
On July 10, 2025, Radhika Yadav (a 25-year-old state-level tennis player) was allegedly shot dead by her father Deepak Yadav (49) at her house in Sushant Lok-2, Gurugram, Haryana.
According to the police, Deepak fired five bullets from his licensed .32 bore revolver, four of which hit Radhika, killing her on the spot. The incident took place around 10:30 am, when Radhika was preparing food for her mother’s birthday in the kitchen.

Police have arrested Deepak Yadav and a case of murder has been registered against him at the Section 56 police station.
On July 11, 2025, a court in Gurugram sent him to one-day police custody. The police are investigating to recover his licensed revolver, bullets and other evidence.
Radhika’s uncle Kuldeep Yadav, who lived on the ground floor of the same house, stated in the FIR that he heard a loud explosion at 10:30 am. When he and his son reached the first floor,
Radhika was lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen and the revolver was in the drawing room. They took Radhika to Asia Maringo Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Radhika’s mother, Manju Yadav, was present at the house at the time of the incident but refused to give a formal statement to the police, citing fever. She said she did not know why Deepak did it.
