Jashan Bawa, a young Sarpanch and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader of Tarida village in Guruharsahai, Ferozepur, Punjab, died on June 1, 2025, after attempting suicide.
SNPNEWS.IN Guruharsahai Update: young Aam Aadmi Party leader and Sarpanch of Tarida village committed suicide by shooting himself late on Saturday night. Although the exact reason for the suicide is not known, the deceased’s friends and other associates have allegedly called it a political murder.
Jashan Bawa, the son of Tarsem Lal, the young Sarpanch of Tarida village, was the only son of his parents. Jashan was a wrestler and was also preparing for UPSC. Jashan’s relatives alleged that after becoming Sarpanch, he was not being given any grant for the development of the village and on the contrary,
some leaders of the current government were harassing him. People are asking many questions about this incident and say that the truth should come out.
Jashan had made a post on the social media account Facbook a few hours before taking his life. Which is being linked to his suicide.Jashan’s family members allege that he was being constantly harassed by former minister and Guruharsahai MLA Fauja Singh Sarari and his personal assistant, due to which he was forced to take this action.

When MLA Fauja Singh Sarari reached Jashan’s house on Sunday, AAP volunteers, villagers and relatives gathered there and started shouting slogans against the MLA.Seeing the anger of the people, the police administration kept the MLA in a room under security. Before the last rites, the MLA was taken to his vehicle under security and sent back. During this, the MLA’s PA was also pushed by the people present there.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, SPD Manjit Singh, DSP Satnam Singh Guruharsahai, Lakhoke Behram police station have started investigating the matter.
SPD Manjit Singh, who reached the spot, said that action has been taken on the basis of the statements of the relatives and the body has been handed over to the relatives. The last rites of the deceased were performed by the relatives in the village on Sunday afternoon.
