The Indian team has entered the semi-finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tournament being played in Dubai and Pakistan, hosted by Pakistan. After defeating Pakistan and Bangladesh, the Indian cricket team has also defeated New Zealand. India will face Australia in the semi-finals on March 4.

During the match played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first. This decision proved to be right for a while when three Indian batsmen returned to the pavilion after scoring 30 runs in 6.4 overs.

But after that S. Iyer, A. Patel, H. Pandya, KL Rahul and R. Jadeja contributed 79,42,45,23,16 runs respectively to take the Indian team’s score to 249-9 in 50 overs. During this innings, New Zealand bowler M. Henry took 5 wickets for 42 runs in 8 overs.

New Zealand were at one point hoping to register an easy victory after scoring 133 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 32.1 overs. But after this, in the next 13.2 overs, Indian bowlers completely dominated the New Zealand batting. V. Chakaravarthy and K. Yadav dismissed 5 and 2 New Zealand batsmen respectively. And apart from K. Williamson’s 81 runs, all the New Zealand batsmen struggled to score runs, after which the team was all out for 205 runs and lost to India by 44 runs before the semi-final clash.
