Following Israel’s actions that have pushed the Gaza Strip toward destruction and violated human rights, protests against the Israeli Prime Minister have erupted worldwide.

Israel’s Prime Minister Faces Embarrassment at UNo Platform

SNPNEWS.IN Update, Sep 25: Israel has devastated the Gaza Strip, claiming to target Hamas and its allied terrorist organizations. However, it has attacked hospitals, schools, and residential areas in Gaza with missiles and lethal weapons, killing thousands of Palestinian elderly, youth, and children. Due to allegations of human rights violations by Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faced significant embarrassment during the fourth discussion of the UNO General Assembly (UNGA 80) held in New York on September 26, 2025.

As soon as Benjamin Netanyahu stepped onto the podium, delegates from around the world began leaving their seats and walking out. This walkout reflects global dissatisfaction with Israel’s military actions in Gaza and its policies against Palestinians.

Israeli media and the foreign ministry described the incident as a “public embarrassment,” highlighting the growing international boycott against Israel. Most of those who remained in the hall were primarily Netanyahu’s personal guests and Israeli delegates, who applauded.

Following Israel’s attacks, famine, poverty, and unemployment have become major issues in Palestine. Since March 2, 2025, Israel has blocked humanitarian aid from entering Gaza through the Kerem Shalom and Rafah borders, affecting 2.1 million people. Famine, water shortages, and diseases have surged on a large scale.

The UN has labeled these actions as akin to “war crimes,” with Human Rights Watch and Refugees International also condemning them. France, Germany, and the UK have stated that Israel is violating international law and acting with intolerance. Last month, the United Nations, following its investigation, claimed that Israel has committed “genocide of Palestinians” in Gaza.

Recently, Canada, Australia, Portugal, France, and Spain have recognized Palestine as a state. So far, 157 out of 193 UN member states, including India (since November 18, 1988), have recognized Palestine as a sovereign nation with independent status. A Palestinian embassy is actively functioning in New Delhi.

Before the Israeli Prime Minister’s speech at the UN platform, delegates in the hall were booing and hooting.

When the Israeli Prime Minister took the podium, delegates from around the world vacated their seats.

Addressing mostly empty chairs, Netanyahu, in his speech, called granting Palestine nationhood status “sheer madness” and described the recognition of the country by several nations as “shameful.”

Netanyahu claimed that Israel’s loudspeakers were broadcasting his speech in Gaza. He displayed a map and referred to Iran, the Houthis, and Hamas as Iran’s “terror axis.” Addressing Hamas, he said, “Lay down your weapons, let us in, and allow us to rescue the abducted people, or we will find you and kill you.”

Speaking to those allegedly abducted by Hamas, he said, “We have not forgotten you—not even for a moment. The people of Israel are with you.”
