Controversy is escalating in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab after some people removed a flag with a photo of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale from the motorcycle of a young man who was on a pilgrimage from Punjab.

Punjab and Himachal have come face to face over the issue of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale’s photo. Meanwhile, a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus going from Chandigarh to Hamirpur was attacked in Punjab.

According to the driver, two people came in an Alto car around 7 pm today and stopped the bus. As soon as the bus stopped, they started attacking the bus with sticks. However, no one was harmed during this.This attack took place on the Kharar flyover in Mohali. According to the driver, by the time he informed the police about the attack, the attackers had fled from there.

This whole matter started with the removal of Bhindranwale’s flags from bikes by the administration in Himachal Pradesh, due to which protests continued at various places in Punjab throughout the day. The protesters stopped several buses of Himachal Roadways and put up Bhindranwale’s posters on them.

The issue of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale’s pictures became a topic of discussion in Himachal Legislative Assembly.

This issue was also raised in the Himachal Assembly on Tuesday. There was a lot of debate on this issue between Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and CM Sukhwinder Sukhu. Meanwhile, Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) MD Nipun Jindal has lodged a complaint in Hoshiarpur police station.

Youth from some organizations in Punjab are stopping buses from Himachal and putting up photos of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale on them, demanding action against those who took down flags with Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale’s photo. Some supporters were seen waving swords in their hands.

They are talking in Bhindranwala’s honour by putting his posters on their vehicles. When they are being stopped, they are flouting the law and order.He said that now Himachal’s bus was stopped in Punjab and Bhindranwala’s photo was put up.

More than 100 buses from Himachal Pradesh go to various cities of Punjab every day. Some are sent to Haridwar or other cities via Punjab. After the posters and flags of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale were put up on Himachal buses in Punjab, the drivers and conductors are scared and frightened.

Himachal Driver-Conductor Union President Man Singh Thakur said that Himachal bus drivers and conductors are being treated badly in Punjab. He has demanded from Punjab and Himachal government to ensure the safety of drivers and conductors.

Complaint lodged at Hoshiyar police station

HRTC MD Noun Jindal said that a complaint was lodged in Hoshiarpur police station regarding the poster that was put up on the HRTC bus at Hoshiarpur bus station. A demand has been made to the Himachal and Punjab governments to take steps to ensure the safety of the bus drivers and conductors as well as passengers.
