Earlier today, during a joint operation by Jammu Kashmir and Haryana Police, approximately 2900 kg of explosive material was recovered. This case began to come to light after posters promoting Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and containing threats were pasted on walls in the Bunpora Naugam area of Srinagar on October 27, 2025, when Jammu Kashmir Police started analyzing CCTV footage.

During the investigation, footage recorded Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather (a resident of Pulwama, doctor at Government Medical College Anantnag) allegedly pasting the posters. Adil was arrested from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. An AK-47 rifle was also recovered from his hospital locker.

After the arrest, during the search of Dr. Adil, he made revelations about his Pakistani handlers and network. He named Dr. Muzammil Ahmed Shakeel (Lecturer/Assistant Professor at Al-Falah University Medical College, Faridabad, Haryana) as a key link, who was in charge of storing the explosive material. Dr. Adil also stated that both were connected to handlers through encrypted channels (such as Telegram) and were planning attacks in Delhi-NCR.

Dr. Muzammil Ahmed Shakeel (35) (who is associated with Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir) had rented a house in Dhauj village, Faridabad, three months ago, where he lived. From there, the police seized approximately 360 kg of ammonium nitrate (explosive material used to make IED bombs), an AK-47 rifle, pistol, ammunition, timers, walkie-talkies, and other weapons.

According to information, this material had been hidden 15 days ago in 8 large and 4 small suitcases. Additionally, 2,563 kg of explosives were seized from another house. In this case, an Imam Ishtiaq was also arrested, who was in contact with Dr. Shakeel.According to officials, this network was planning a major attack in Delhi-NCR. It was using “educated professionals” as leaders.
