Lord's Test Day 1 England Recovers After Early Setbacks

England’s best performance in the last 4 years at Lord’s, Joe Root (99)* not out

ANDERSON-TENDULKAR TEST The third Test match of the series is being played at Lord’s. England won the toss and decided to bat first.

England batsmen J Crawley (18) and BM Duckett (23) were dismissed by Nitish Kumar Reedy in the very first over. England’s first wicket fell on 43 and the second on 44. After which OJ Pope (44) and Joe Root (99)* made a century partnership.

Ravindra Jadeja took the wicket of OJ Pope (44) when England was on 153. England batsman HC Brook was bowled out by Bumrah on (11).

After this, the Indian bowlers could not take any wickets and by the end of the day’s play, England had added 251 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Joe Root (99)* and BA Stokes (39)* are unbeaten with a combined total of runs.

From the Indian bowling attack, N Kumar Reedy 2, Ravindra Jadeja and Bumrah got 1 wicket each.
