MLA Joramajra Apologized To Teachers. Former health minister and Aam Aadmi Party MLA Chetan Singh Jodmajra has apologized for the words spoken on stage about teachers in Samana government school in Patiala. He has apologized at a time when teachers have warned of a protest across the state from Friday.
On the other hand, the opposition parties have been attacking on this issue. Joda Majra said, “My intention was not to hurt the teachers. They are worthy of our respect. They are our Gurus. I apologize to the teachers of entire Punjab.”
Chetan Singh went to a school in Samana on April 7 under the Joda Majra Shiksha Kranti program. The school teachers told that he had reached about an hour late than the scheduled time. It was very hot. As soon as he was invited to address the gathering on the stage, most of the parents left. There were fewer teachers and fewer children, he said, “Which classes are going on? Are all the children present? Which classes are sitting here?How many teachers are absent? I need to be told why the teachers are absent. Is this already planned?”
He told the teachers, “You talk big. No child even listens to you. Whoever is outside, his attendance should be marked as absent. This is not a school, there is no such thing as a school in it. Complaints against all the teachers will be sent in writing to the Chief Minister and the Education Minister. Everyone’s condition is bad. The government is spending money. What do you teach? No child is listening to you.”
After this the matter became heated. The teachers opposed it. However, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains was in favor of the teachers from the very beginning. He had said that he would support the teachers.
After this, the minister while talking to the media said that it is very important to have discipline in the school. There are 40 teachers in the school, out of which seven were absent without informing. While some teachers were sitting in the office after the program. A girl was coming from the back side of the office. She was scared seeing the children.
At the same time, the teacher could not even answer how many children are there in the school. After the government program, 193 children were present. He said that the government pays salary, so teachers have to follow the rules. He also told that work worth Rs 45-46 lakh has been started in the school.
MLA Joramajra has old history of controversies.
When Chetan Singh Joda Majra was the Health Minister in 2022, he visited Faridkot Hospital. During this, he reached the skin ward. The mattresses there were torn and burnt. Seeing this, Minister Joda Majra got furious.
Instead of demanding answers from the officers, he asked the Vice Chancellor to lie down in it. The Vice Chancellor was a little hesitant, so the minister himself held his hand and asked him to lie down. At that time the entire staff and media were present there.
