With the NDA alliance securing more than 200 seats in the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections, discussions have begun regarding the name (Nitish kumar’s) the Chief Minister position.
SNPNEWS.IN News (Gurmail Kamboj): In the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections, both JD(U) and BJP have performed much better than their 2020 results. The NDA alliance, comprising BJP (89 seats), JD(U) (85 seats), and smaller allies such as LJP (RV), HAM, and RLM, have also performed well. In these elections, BJP has emerged as the largest party with 89 seats. Following the victory, Nitish Kumar has called a cabinet meeting today. The meeting is likely to approve the dissolution of the 17th Legislative Assembly. After the resolution is passed, Kumar will submit his resignation to Governor Arif Muhammad Khan, paving the way for the next stage of forming the new government.
As soon as the notification for the formation of the 18th Bihar Legislative Assembly is issued, the process of government formation has gained momentum today. The Election Commission will inform Bihar’s Governor Arif Muhammad Khan about the final results, after which the model code of conduct will end.
NDTV have indicated that Nitish Kumar will remain Bihar’s Chief Minister. After finalizing the cabinet formula in a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a new state government is expected to be formed within three days.

According to NDTV, in yesterday’s meeting in Delhi between Nitish Kumar and Amit Shah, the cabinet formation formula was finalized. Despite initial hesitation from the BJP side in supporting Kumar as their leader, it was decided in the meeting that Nitish Kumar will continue as Chief Minister.
There is a possibility of a larger share for BJP in the Council of Ministers, followed by JD(U), and even smaller allies will be included in the cabinet allocation. The NDA will follow the formula of ‘one minister for every six MLAs’ to decide the cabinet allocation.
