Sangrur, April 14 – Under the directions of the Punjab Government, the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm at the Government Ranbir College today at the Government Ranbir College in which Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora was the chief guest and MLA Sangrur Mrs. Narinder Kaur Bharaj attended as a special guest.
The function was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Rishi.
Paying floral tributes to Baba Saheb on this occasion, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was a renowned jurist, economist and social reformer, due to whom the constitution was made, today India has the pride of being the largest democratic country in the world.
He said that due to his far-sighted thinking, everyone got the right to equality and the AAP government of Punjab led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is taking important steps towards realizing the dream of Baba Saheb and today’s event is also a part of those important steps.
He said that as soon as the Aam Aadmi Party government came into power in Punjab in the year 2022, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s picture was installed in all government offices as a mark of respect.
Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that the ‘AAP government’ has proved successful in inducting 6 SC ministers in the Punjab cabinet, giving them honor and respect, as well as making reservation mandatory for the first time in the AG office and ensuring hassle-free distribution of SC scholarships.
He said that in the previous governments, influential people also looted the amount of scholarships for students, which was a very unfortunate phenomenon, but the Aam Aadmi Party state government, fulfilling its responsibility towards the SC community, released the amount of Rs 460 crore that was pending during the previous governments and the loans before the year 2020 were also waived off in the new budget.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb and said that the Punjab government is committed to Baba Saheb’s principles of education.
She expressed happiness and said that Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar ji had given three slogans, which included stay educated, struggle and stay organized, and the Mann government is guarding these three slogans with full dedication and by bringing an education revolution, new standards are being established on a daily basis.
She said that the Punjab government has successfully implemented programs like School of Eminence and connected the children of poor families with the modern education system and these children of ours are making a name for themselves in the field of education due to their hard work and dedication.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora also took an oath from everyone to not do drugs while supporting the Punjab government under the campaign War Against Drugs being run by the Punjab government.
During the event, Professor Gurvinder Singh of Government Ranbir College gave information about the life struggles of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Ji, while Professor Gulshan Deep Dania shared his views on the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme.
Apart from this, two students Sukhbir Singh and Baljinder Singh also shared their experiences about the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme.
During the event, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj presented National Savings Certificates to students affiliated with Post Matric Scholarship, beneficiaries of Ashirwad Scheme, 5 villages under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, couples who got married inter-caste, certificates of beneficiaries of Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development Finance Corporation, besides this, a booklet of schemes of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Department was also released.
As part of the event, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj were honored by the district administration. Earlier, floral wreaths were also offered at the statue of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Ji located at the DC Complex.
On this occasion, besides others, Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, ADC Amit Bambi, SP Navreet Singh Virk, Chairman of Improvement Trust Pritam Singh Peetu, Member Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Gulzar Singh Bobi, Chairman Market Committee Avtar Singh Elwal, SDM Charan Jot Singh Walia along with a large number of other political leaders, administrative officers and students were present.
