The Punjab government is continuously active against drug smugglers. Today, a bulldozer operation was witnessed in the home district of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. During which 2 luxurious houses were demolished. Both drug traffickers had been continuously smuggling drugs in the area since 2017.
Which drug smugglers has the police taken action against?
Rajpal Singh and Ratto, both husband and wife, have 11 cases registered under the NDPS Act. The first case against both of them was registered in 2017. The second action has been taken against a drug smuggler named Lakho. According to the police, 4 cases under NDPS have been registered against Lakho since 2018. It is alleged that both the houses were built illegally. The demolition of these houses is being done after the approval of the administrative authorities and the concerned departments.
2375 drug smugglers arrested.

Along with this, it was informed that 2575 drug smugglers have been arrested across the state in 17 days and 1651 FIRs have been registered. 95 kg heroin, 52 kg opium, 1129 kg poppy husk, 13.79 kg ganja, 7.25 lakh narcotic pills/injections, 1 kg ICE, 1.37 kg cocaine and drug money worth Rs 64 lakh have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
