Power Failure In Haryana Jail. A prisoner in Haryana’s Jind jail, who was in a case of attempted murder and Arms Act, escaped. The prisoner knew electrical work. The high mast light malfunctioned at night. The warder sent him to fix the fault. From there, he climbed a ladder and escaped by jumping from the 25 feet high wall of the jail. The police is trying to find him.
Prisoner Rakesh is a resident of village Banarasi situated in Sangrur district of Punjab. He was lodged in Jind district jail for 3 years. Police caught him during an encounter. According to police, 14 cases of attempt to murder, robbery, threat and Arms Act are pending against Rakesh.

a prisoner was sent to fix itOn Tuesday night, warder Ishwar Singh, who was on electricity duty, was called in due to the malfunctioning of the high mast light of the district jail. Repair and construction work was going on in the rear part of the jail. Prisoner Rakesh was an expert in electrical work, so he was kept outside the barrack to fix the fault in the high mast light.
He was looking for the fault. After some time, the warder Ishwar Singh came and saw but Rakesh was not there. After this, he was looked for in the barrack but he was not there either. After this, when he looked at the back of barrack number two, there was a ladder attached to the main wall of the jail. After this, when the CCTV cameras were scanned, it was found that at 7:43 pm, prisoner Rakesh took advantage of the darkness and escaped by jumping over the jail wall through the ladder.
Jind District Jail Deputy Superintendent Surendra informed the police about this and conducted a search operation throughout the night, but the prisoner could not be found anywhere. Civil Line SHO Inspector Vinod Kumar said that a case has been registered.

In this case, two security personnel of Jind District Jail, Narendra and Subhash, who were on duty at the time of this incident on Tuesday night, have been suspended. The jail department has found both these security personnel guilty of negligence in duty in its preliminary investigation and they have been suspended.
The suspension of two employees of the district jail is just the beginning of the action in the case of the escape of a prisoner named Rakesh from the district jail. Regular investigation in this case has now begun and it is believed that action may be taken against some more employees of the district jail as well.
