Modi said: “If RJD brought jungle raj and appeasement politics to Bihar, then Congress’s identity is tied to the Sikh genocide. This happened on November 1 and 2, 1984. Even today, Congress is giving new positions within the party to those killers who participated in the Sikh massacre. Whether it is Congress or RJD, they have no remorse for their crimes.”
He linked this to the Congress-led INDIA alliance and cautioned voters during the election campaign.
The Bihar Assembly elections are being held in November 2025, with a direct contest between the NDA (BJP-JDU) and the Mahagathbandhan (RJD-Congress). Voting for the first phase is scheduled for November 5.
In this rally, Modi expressed confidence in a record-breaking victory for the NDA and reiterated the BJP government’s vision of a developed India.
Most victims’ family members who survived the massacre have passed away while awaiting justice. This massacre is referred to as the “Sikh Genocide”. Serious allegations were leveled against Congress leaders of that time, but very few culprits have been punished. Modi had also called this massacre a “horrific genocide” in 2019.
