
In Punjab, incidents of murders, robberies, and extortion that happen daily have become a topic of discussion among the common people.
SNPNEWS.IN News Punjab (Gurmail Kamboj): On January 4, the sarpanch of Valtoha village in Tarn Taran district, affiliated with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Jarmal Singh (or Jarnail Singh) (name not fully clear), was shot dead during a wedding ceremony at the Marigold Marriage Palace (near Verka Bypass) in Amritsar.
According to CCTV footage, two unidentified attackers entered the palace posing as guests. The sarpanch, who was sitting at a table with close relatives, was shot in the turban by one attacker from behind, and the other fired into his back.

After committing the crime, both accused calmly fled from the palace. The seriously injured sarpanch was taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the spot, started the investigation, and are trying to identify the attackers. According to some reports, a gangster has claimed responsibility, but it has not been confirmed.
Before this incident, several daylight murders have been witnessed, due to which questions are being raised about the law and order situation in Punjab. The opposition parties have targeted the government after this murder.
