Punjab Agro Input Dealers Representatives today met Agriculture Minister Mr. Gurmeet Singh Khudian and raised issues related to Seed Amendment Bill (2025 Punjab), POS Machine and tagging.
1 August 2025 SNPNEWS.IN: A delegation of Punjab Agro Input Dealers today met Agriculture Minister Mr. Gurmeet Singh Khudian at his residence in Chandigarh where they discussed the Seed Amendment Bill (2025 Punjab) with the Minister in detail and apprised him of the difficulties to be faced after the passage of this Bill.
After hearing the Punjab Agro Input Dealers Representatives in detail, the Minister held the second meeting of the representatives with Director Agriculture Punjab, JDA Seed and JDA Fertilizer Punjab at Punjab Secretariat today at 11:30 AM.
During this meeting, the representatives raised the issues of problems faced by dealers after the passage of the Seed Amendment Bill, problems related to POS machines of fertilizers and illegal tagging of fertilizers before the Agriculture Minister and the officials.
The representatives of the Dealers Association requested the Minister to reduce the police intervention, punishment provision and fine in the Seed Amendment Bill. In addition, The dealers appealed to the minister that they purchase seeds in sealed packaging after registering the certificate in the license and getting the purchase bill from the producers and then sell them to the farmers. Therefore, determining the quality of the seeds is in the hands of the producer instead of the dealers. Therefore, some relaxation in the law should be given to the dealers.
The Minister said that the problems of the representatives would be resolved soon. Dealers like Raj Rasewat, Surinder Singh, Ishwar Garg Timpi, Kala Ram, Suresh Budhiraja, Rakesh Pahwa, Abhinandan Kumar, Naresh Bansal, Sumit Garg, Saurabh Bansal, Munish Kumar, Tejpal, Mandeep Singla, Manuj Gupta, Pradeep Kumar, Nirmal Singh, Labh Singh, Kush Singh, Deepak Garg, Surinder Singla, Deepak Sharma, Mahinder Pal Khalsa, Uttam Singh, Kulvir Singh, Jaswant Singh, Tarsem Singh, Karamjit Singh etc. are present in this meeting.
