Punjab In The Grip Of Floods: Chief Minister On A Visit To Tamil Nadu

SNPNEWS.IN UPDATE 26 AUGUST 2025: situation in Punjab and the adjoining hilly areas has become extremely critical due to heavy rains for the last 1 week. The Sutlej, Ravi, Beas and the small and large canals and rainwater drains flowing out of them have taken a terrible shape. A flood-like situation has arisen in many parts of the state. Thousands of acres of crops have been destroyed, property worth crores of rupees has been lost to water. At such a critical time, Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is on a visit to Tamil Nadu, leaving the people of the state to God.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today (August 26, 2025) arrived in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and participated as the chief guest in the expansion ceremony of the ‘Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme’ being run by the Tamil Nadu government. In this ceremony, he, along with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhyanidhi Stalin, distributed breakfast to the students at St. Joseph’s Primary School, Mylapore and also had lunch with them.

After the photos of the Chief Minister’s visit to Tamil Nadu surfaced, leaders of opposition parties have raised questions about the sensitivity of the Chief Minister and AAP leaders. They alleged that the Chief Minister is eating food in Tamil Nadu, leaving the people of his state in trouble. If the government had made adequate arrangements to deal with the floods in time, the people of Punjab would not have had to see this situation.
