Punjab News Update, Sunam Udham Singh Wala (Gurmail Kamboj). Punjab BJP State Secretary from Sunam Madam Daman Thind and her husband Harmandev Bajwa met Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at Punjab Raj Bhawan and discussed issues related to Sunam city.
In this regard Madam Daman Thind said that the purpose of our meeting was to focus the attention of the Honorable Governor especially towards the memorial of Shaheed Udham Singh Ji located in Sunam and we told him that more development work should be done in the memorial of Shaheed Udham Singh Ji. And the legacy of that martyr should be preserved so that we can give him due respect.
Highlights From The Meeting
● Bajwa raised the issue of non-response to letters sent to the state government by the Union Culture and Tourism Department for the development of Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial.
● Bajwa raised the issue of beautifying the appearance of Shaheed Udham Singh’s ancestral home before the Governor.
● Bajwa raised the issue of the state government shifting the Martyrdom Day celebrations from Sunam Grain Market to a palace and celebrating them like a party meeting before the Governor.
● Madam Bajwa invited the Governor to a state-level function to be organized at the Grain Market in collaboration with Sunam organizations on July 31, on the occasion of the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh.
The Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Hon’ble Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, seeing the efforts being made by us for a long time, is ready to provide huge funds, about which he has also informed me and the state government by writing a letter and has sought proposals from the state government under various schemes, which the state government has not sent yet.

Madam Daman Bajwa said that I informed the Hon’ble Governor about this and sought his help to ask the state government to forward a good project to the central government as soon as possible so that the central government can release maximum funds for this project and we can give due respect to that martyr.
