SNPNEWS.IN News Update, August 31: The Punjab Women Commission (PSWC) has issued a notice to AAP MLA and former minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal. A video of AAP MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal’s visit to flood-affected areas of Ajnala has recently surfaced in which AAP MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal is seen placing his hand on the shoulder of Amritsar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Madam Sakshi Sahni and pulling her towards him. In the video, DC Sakshi Sahni was clearly looking uncomfortable. The video went viral on social media and was considered inappropriate behavior towards women.

Political and Non-Political Reactions Following the Incident:

Opposition Parties: Parties like Congress and BJP highlighted this as evidence of AAP’s “anti-women” attitude. They targeted the Bhagwant Mann government over the incident.

Women Leaders and NGOs: Several women leaders and NGOs condemned Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, stating that such behavior towards officials is unacceptable.-

● AAP’s Response: While Dhaliwal has not yet openly responded, AAP has called it a “misunderstanding” and stated that it was a normal conversation.

The Punjab State Women’s Commission (PSWC) took the incident seriously and issued a notice, a copy of which has been shared on the commission’s official website and social media, in accordance with its rules (taken up suo motu).
