“We are neither social workers nor politicians – we are just Punjabis standing with Punjab”: The ‘Putt Punjab De’ (Jaura) team donated 2 lakh rupees and contributed to relief efforts by providing food, medicines, and continuous support in flood-affected areas (Sultanpur Lodhi, Gurdaspur, Moga, Firozpur, Amritsar, Ajnala) under the banner of ‘Seva Only’ – Sahil Joda.

SNPNEWS.IN News Update, Sep 2025: Punjab’s Doaba and Majha regions are grappling with floods due to water released from Bhakra, Ranjit Sagar, and Pong dams in the Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej rivers, coupled with excessive rainfall. In this challenging time, various social organizations and religious groups in Punjab are stepping up to support the state. Similarly, Sahil Jaura from Sunam and his organization ‘Putt Punjab De’ have been actively engaged in flood-affected areas for the past two weeks.

Putt Punjab De (Joura) Team Actively Engaged in Flood-Affected Areas

The ‘Putt Punjab De’ organization has been carrying out extensive relief work in flood-affected areas (Sultanpur Lodhi, Gurdaspur, Moga, Firozpur, Amritsar, Ajnala). On 09-09-2025, with the support of the organization’s founder Rohit Joda (Jaura Punjab) and his team, financial assistance of 2 lakh rupees was provided after assessing the ground situation in villages of Sultanpur Lodhi, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, and Ajnala.

In a conversation with SNPNEWS.IN, Sahil Joura stated, “We are neither an NGO nor a political entity; we were born in Punjab, and it is our duty as Punjabis to stand with Punjab.” He added that their team has been serving flood-affected areas for two weeks, providing medical services, dry food, and sending soil for reinforcing embankments (Zira-Makhu). Their team members have also been actively involved in embankment reinforcement.

In Machhi Ke village, Moga district, for the past week, their team, led by Dr. Baljit Singh Gill, has been running a medical camp, treating around 600 patients affected by serious flood-related illnesses, including liver tests and primary treatment.

As water levels recede in flood-affected areas, the team plans to send diesel, tractor-trolleys, medical vans, medicines, and dry food to some villages in Firozpur (border range) that have not yet received aid, to level the land. Joura mentioned that their team has collected over 2 lakh rupees as ‘Dasvandh’ (tithe) for leveling farmlands.

Sahil Jaura thanked team members Rohit Jaura, Manpreet Wadhaich (Mani), Advocate Satbir Singh Sahi (Sangrur), Gursewak Sandhu (Sarpanch Goluwala, Moga), Har Sandhu (Sarpanch Jogewala, Firozpur), and Karmjeet Singh (Tinku) for their support in relief efforts.

Jaura appealed to Punjabis to contribute through ‘Dasvandh’ and fulfill their duty by actively participating in ground-level efforts to support Punjab.
