Rajinder Deepa pay homage to the statue of Shaheed Udham Singh upon reaching Sunam, except for Manpreet Baraich, most of the senior leaders were absent.
Rajinder Deepa, who entered Punjab politics from student politics 45 years ago. Deepa has been continuously active in the politics of Sunam constituency since 1990.
He was constantly seen active in Sunam with former minister and MLA from Sunam late Bhagwan Das Arora, the people of the constituency see a glimpse of a good and honest leader in Deepa after Bhagwan Das Arora. That is why even today he is called as Bau Deepa Ji.
After the death of Bhagwan Das Arora, Deepa’s wife was chosen by the Congress to represent the constituency.
In 2007, Rajinder Deepa separated from the Congress after not getting a ticket and contested the election as an independent. During this election, Deepa managed to get more than 19000 votes.
During the political ups and downs, Deepa joined the Akali Dal in 2017 where he was working as the party’s constituency in-charge for the last 8 years.
The Congress party has intensified preparations for the 2027 assembly elections. Meanwhile, Rajinder Deepa was inducted into the party. After which Rajinder Deepa came to Sunam for the first time today.
During which he was given a warm welcome by Congress workers. On this occasion, senior Congress leaders Manpreet Baraich, Master Surinder Singh Bharur, former Sarpanch and MC Hakam Singh, Darshan Singh Thind, Harpal Singh Pala, Neema Singh, Surinder Singh, Avtar Singh Tari and a large number of Congress workers were present.
Addressing a press conference at his home after paying homage at the Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial, Rajinder Deepa said in response to the press’s questions that he is happy that Congress leaders and workers are standing with him in large numbers after he joined the party. In response to a question, Deepa said that the Congress party is 99% united.
There is still one and a half years left and he and the party will work continuously to bring together local leaders and office bearers.

After Captain Amarinder Singh, the party has many big leaders like Partap Singh Bajwa, Charanjit Singh Channi, Amarinder Raja Baring, so sometimes it seems that there will be a dispute among them for the Chief Minister’s post, whereas there is nothing like that,
The entire Congress party is united and engaged in preparing for the 2027 elections. We will learn from past mistakes. We will work for the betterment of the party and Punjab.
Deepa described the three and a half year tenure of the current government as increasing corruption, drugs and the embarrassment of the people, saying that the Aam Aadmi Party has completely failed to live up to the expectations of the people.
He said during 2022 Elactions People came to the aid of AAP leaders and due to the failures of the previous Akali and Captain Amarinder Singh tenure, the new party won 92 MLAs and sent them to the Vidhan Sabha. Which did not live up to the expectations of the people, due to which the people of Punjab are excited to snatch the reins of power from AAP in 2027 and hand it over to the Congress.
