On the morning of September 27, 2025, he met with a horrific road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, caused by a stray animal crossing the road. The accident was so severe that he sustained serious injuries to his head and spine. He is currently admitted to the ICU at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, and is on a ventilator.

The accident has reignited discussions about the management of stray animals, with the public questioning the effectiveness of government initiatives like the cow census, animal protection teams, and shelter management. People are raising concerns about the lack of concrete action to address the stray animal issue.

According to public sentiment, approximately one death occurs daily in Punjab due to accidents caused by stray animals. Nationally, around 10% of road accidents are attributed to stray animals, resulting in thousands of fatalities and countless serious injuries.

Stray animals have become a significant problem across the country. The public is demanding why the government is not taking necessary steps to address the issue of stray animal management effectively.
