Sangrur DC Issued Notice by Central Government Over a Comment

SNPNEWS.IN News Update, Sep 25: On September 17, 2025, a social media post from the official X (Twitter) account of Sangrur DC Rahul Chaba referred to the ₹1,600 crore flood relief package announced by the Central Government for Punjab as a “cruel joke.” The language of the post criticized the Central Government’s relief announcement, which the Centre deemed a violation of official conduct standards.

Following this, the PMO and DoPT issued a strict show-cause notice. The post was shared on X (Twitter) but was deleted shortly afterward.

This controversy primarily revolves around the amount of the relief package, the utilization of funds, and political allegations. The Punjab BJP also lodged a complaint regarding the post.
