Diljit Dosanjh’s film Sardar Ji 3 has become a topic of discussion after it was not released due to possible protests in some parts of the country.

Sardar Ji 3, which stars Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa in the lead roles, faced controversy in India due to the presence of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, due to which the film could not be released in Indian cinemas. Despite this, the film performed well globally, especially in overseas markets.
The film received approval from the censor boards in Pakistan and set the record for the highest-grossing Punjabi film on its first day when it was released on 27 June 2025.
According to reports, its shows in Pakistan were housefull, giving it a bumper opening. Globally, the film grossed crores of rupees, with a major share from countries like Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, where the overseas market for Punjabi cinema is strong.
However, the producers faced financial losses due to the non-release in India, as India is the largest market for Punjabi films. Nevertheless, the film’s success in Pakistan and foreign markets brought it global fame.
