While batting, the South African team was all out for just 159 runs in 55 overs. Contributions came from A Markram (48-31), W Mulder (51-24), T de Zorzi (55-24), and R Rickelton (22-23). Indian bowlers took wickets: J Bumrah (14-27-5), Kuldeep Yadav (14-36-2), Muhammad Siraj (12-47-2), and Arshad Patel (6-21-1).

After South Africa was all out, the Indian team also failed to perform exceptionally. The entire team was all out for 189 runs in 62.2 overs.
