Foundation stone of Sunam’s new bus stand can be laid on July 31, state level function will be held in Anaj Mandi, possibility of Chief Minister and Kejriwal’s arrival.
Punjab Pradesh President and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora invited AAP National President Arvind Kejriwal to visit Sunam Udham Singh Wala on July 31 on the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh and pay homage to the great martyr, which Kejriwal accepted.
This year, the martyrdom ceremony will not be held in any palace, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will arrive to pay tribute to Shaheed Udham Singh during a large gathering at Anaj Mandi Sunam.
Last year, the state level function was shifted to Maharaja Palace Patiala Road Sunam due to bad weather. After which there was a controversy and social service organizations had opposed the conversion of the event to be held on the occasion of Shaheed Udham Singh Ji’s martyrdom day from a state-level event to a party meeting.
The previous days BJP leader and Sunam constituency in-charge Madam Daman Thind Bajwa had opposed the July 31 event in the palace. She had said that if the state government does not convert the event back to the mandi, she herself will organize a state-level event in the mandi along with social service organizations.
According to the information received, Sunam Udham Singh Wala, the birthplace of Shaheed Udham Singh Ji, will receive a big gift on this day. The foundation stone of the new bus stand to be built at a cost of about Rs.10 crore at Sunam Udham Singh Wala can be laid on July 31 in the land next to Sachkhand Gurdwara Sahib.
During this important meeting between Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and Kejriwal, MLA Devinder Jeet Singh Laddi Dhos, Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy, Chetan Singh Jouramajra, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, Narinder Kaur Bharaj, Neena Mittal, Gurlal Singh Ghanaur, Fauja Singh Sarari, Naresh Kataria, Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya, Jamil Ur Rehman and Malkit Singh Thind, Chairman BC Commission, were also present.
