South Africa’s bowlers Simon Harmer (4/21 off 14 overs), Marco Jansen (2/15 off 7 overs), Keshav Maharaj (2/37 off 9 overs), and Aiden Markram (1/5 off 3 overs) claimed the wickets. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s strategy of preparing a spin-friendly and lifeless pitch backfired for the Indian team. It remains to be seen whether the team management will opt for a spin-friendly and lifeless pitch for the next match or prepare a better and livelier surface.
