The first match of the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy will be exciting after the 3rd day’s play.

On the third day of the 1st Test of the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy between India & England at Headingley, Leeds, India finished the day with a 6-run lead after England’s first innings concluded at 465, in response to India’s 471.

Jasprit Bumrah was the standout performer, claiming a five-wicket haul (5/83), including the dismissals of Ollie Pope (106), Ben Stokes (20), and Josh Tongue, while Prasidh Krishna took three wickets.

Harry Brook fell agonizingly short of a century, scoring 99. England trailed by 144 runs at lunch, with Brook (57*) and Jamie Smith (29*) unbeaten, but India’s bowlers, after lunch led by Bumrah, wrapping up England’s innings before tea break.

India’s First Innings (471 all out):

● Yashasvi Jaiswal’s gritty century (101) set the tone.

● Shubman Gill’s 147 anchored the innings with elegance.

● Rishabh Pant’s aggressive 134 boosted India’s total.

● England’s B Stokes & J Tongue (4-4 wickets) were the standout bowlers.

England’s First Innings (465 all out):

● England responded strongly, falling just 6 runs short of India’s total.

● Key contributions from O. Pope (106), H. Brook (99), B. Duckett (62), J. Smith (40) and C. Woakes (38).

● Jasprit Bumrah’s fiery spell (5 wickets) dismantled England’s Top & Lower order.

● Prasidh Krishna (3 wickets) and Mohammed Siraj (2 wickets) provided crucial support.

● England’s lower order, led by C. Woakes & B. Carse , kept them Near the Indian total.

India had a very poor start in the second innings, their opener Jaiswal falling victim to B. Carse after scoring just 4 runs.
