India won the tournament title by defeating New Zealand in the final match.
In the final between India and New Zealand played at the National Cricket Stadium in Dubai, New Zealand batted first and scored 251 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs thanks to half-centuries from D Mitchell and S Bracewell. India’s spin bowling was excellent during this innings, the spin bowlers managed to dismiss 5 batsmen for 144 runs in 38 overs.

For India, openers Rohit Sharma (76) and Gill (31) put on a 105-run partnership in 18.4 overs. After Gill’s dismissal, New Zealand looked to be coming back when they allowed India to score 98 runs in the next 22.5 overs, dismissing four of Indian batsmen. India needed 49 runs to win in the last 8.3 overs. KL Rahul’s unbeaten 34 also played a key role in guiding India to victory. India achieved the target in 49 overs for the loss of 6 wickets and claimed the Champions Trophy tournament.
