US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone over the rising tensions between Iran and Israel. The conversation lasted for about an hour.
Trump shared the details of the conversation on his Truth social account.
Trump wrote, “President Putin called me this morning to wish me a happy birthday. But in fact, the focus of our conversation was on Iran. A country that Putin knows very well.”
“We had a long conversation about Iran. There was a little talk about Russia and Ukraine, that will be discussed next week.”
Trump also said that both Russia and Ukraine are working on a plan to exchange their prisoners and that a large number of prisoners are being exchanged immediately by both countries.
He wrote, “Putin believes and I also think the same thing that the war that is going on between Israel and Iran should end now. I also told him that they should also end their war.”
