A massive fire broke out in a firecracker market in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh on October 19 at around 12:30 pm, engulfing 60-70 shops.

SNPNEWS.IN News Update (Gurmail Kamboj): On the occasion of Diwali, reports of fire breaking out due to human negligence or lack of arrangements are often reported. One such extremely unfortunate case has come to light from MG College Ground, Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh in Lodhi Ganj area.
According to the information received, permission was given by the administration to set up about 60-70 temporary firecracker shops in the college ground. The incident of fire breaking out in this temporary market came to light on October 19 at around 12:30 pm.

According to the information received, 60-70 shops caught fire due to this incident, which caused a loss of Rs 3-5 crore. More than 50 two-wheelers were badly damaged during the accident. It has been reported that 3 people were injured in this accident.
After the fire, the sound of 300-400 small and big explosions was heard up to 2 km away. Within a few minutes, the area was engulfed in smoke and flames, the police administration reached the spot.
After the fire incident, a huge traffic jam occurred around the college, due to which 7-8 fire brigade vehicles were used to control the fire despite the fire station being nearby. The district administration and police reached the spot and tried to control the situation, the traders have appealed for compensation.
