SNPNEWS.IN News (Gurmail Kamboj) – The second semifinal of the Women’s World Cup 2025 was played today at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai, between India and Australia. The Australian captain won the toss and elected to bat first.
Thanks to brilliant batting from Australia’s P. Litchfield (93 off 119), E. Perry (88 off 77), and A. Gardner (45 off 63), Australia set a massive target of 339 runs for the Indian women’s team. Australia’s entire team was all out for 338 runs in 49.5 overs.
Indian bowlers N. Charani (10-49-2) and D. Sharma (9.5-73-2) claimed wickets. During this innings, 3 Australian players were run out.

Chasing the target, India’s start was quite ordinary, with S. Varma (5 off 10) and S. Mandhana (24 off 24) getting out after scoring a few runs. Thereafter, captain Harmanpreet Kaur (88 off 89) and J. Rodrigues (134 off 127)* forged a 167-run partnership to bring India into a winning position. Later, D. Sharma (17 off 24), R. Ghosh (16 off 26), and A. Kaur (8 off 15)* ensured India’s victory. Australian bowlers K. Garth (7-46-2) and A. Southland (10-69-2) took wickets.
On Sunday, November 2, the final match will be played between India and South Africa.
