
YouTuber Gurpreet Kotli claimed through his social media account that he was offered lakhs of rupees to upload 1 reel in favor of Land Pooling policy on his social media account.
The issue of Land Pooling policy (Act 2025), which has been a topic of discussion and controversy in Punjab for the last few months, has once again come under question. In fact, yesterday, a YouTuber from Punjab, Gurpreet Kotli, went live through his social media account and claimed that he was offered Rs 1 lakh per reel by a company’s employee to campaign in favor of Land Pooling policy. Kotli further claimed that he was offered Rs 1-1 lakh to campaign through his 2 social media accounts.
After this claim of Gurpreet Kotli, politics is once again seen in the Land polling policy matter. The opposition parties are putting the ruling party and its officials in the dock and calling this Act a misfortune for farmers and Punjab.
Some important facts related to Land Pooling Policy 2025-:
● The purpose of this policy is to use more than 40,000 acres of agricultural land around 17 major cities of Punjab for urban development.
● Government Claimed that With the consent of the farmers, 1000 yards of developed residential or commercial plots will be given in return of Per acre.
● The purpose of this policy is to promote convenient and smooth urban development in cities of Punjab like Patiala, Mohali, Amritsar etc.
● The government has made it clear that land will not be acquired without the consent (NOC) of the farmers.
● A “Letter of Intent” will be issued to the farmers within 21 days of consent.
● Annual contract of ₹50,000 per acre till development starts and ₹1 lakh per acre after development starts.
● Farmers can continue farming on their land till development starts.
● Opposition parties and farmers’ organizations allege that this policy is a conspiracy to give farmers’ land to builders and big business companies in the name of urban development.
● Farmer leaders allege that this policy will forcibly acquire about 1 lakh acres of fertile land, which will put thousands of farmers and laborers out of work.
