In Pakistan’s Balochistan, 27 terrorists have been killed in an operation to free the hostages of a train held hostage since yesterday afternoon by a terrorist group affiliated with the Baloch insurgent group. Apart from this, the security forces have been able to rescue more than 150 people so far.
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that it has derailed the train and taken it into its possession. According to the BLA’s claim, after killing six security personnel, 100 passengers have been taken hostage, including security personnel posted on duty. However, there has been no confirmation of this group’s claim. In a statement, the BLA has warned that if the Pakistani army takes any action, all the hostages will be killed. This group is banned by Pakistan, Britain and the US. There is no official figure regarding the deaths, but security sources say that the train driver and several passengers have been injured in the firing. -PTI

Railway officials have confirmed that the train driver has been seriously injured and an emergency train has been sent to the scene for assistance. Railway Controller Muhammad Kashif said that the train has nine coaches and about 500 passengers were travelling in it. He said that the train was stopped in tunnel number 8 by armed men. There are 17 tunnels on the railway line in this area and the train often slows down here due to the difficult route. The Balochistan government has directed the local authorities to take immediate steps.
