
Aam Aadmi Party Punjab state president and cabinet minister Aman Arora today revealed the name of the deserving candidate for the chair of Municipal Council Sunam. This disappointed many new and old faces aspiring for the presidency.
SNPNEWS.IN News (Gurmail Kamboj): Today, on June 23, the election of new office bearers of Sunam Shaheed Udham Singh Wala Municipal Council (for which voting was held on June 26 and results were declared on May 29) was successfully completed unanimously. During this election, MC Manpreet Bansal was elected as the president, Yadwinder Singh Nirman as the senior vice president and Meena Rani wife of Shri Bhanu Pratap as the vice president.
After the election results, there was a lot of discussion about the post of president among the 19 winning candidates of AAP (out of which the names of Market Committee Sunam Chairman Mukesh Juneja’s mother, AAP Block President Sahib Singh, Asa Bajaj, Mahi Mahant and Yadwinder Nirman were often the subject of discussion),
For the past few days, the names of Manpreet Bansal and Advocate Monty Madan (who won unopposed and became MC for the second time) were widely tossed around. After which Manpreet Bansal got the responsibility of president today and a post posted by Advocate Monty Madan on Facebook became the subject of discussion. Moti wrote in his post “It is very difficult to make a place in the hearts of people, positions are obtained through flattery.” This post of Monty is being seen by the people as a tease for the president to be taken away, after which many other leaders seemed to have gone silent.
When asked by journalists about the presence of several contenders for the presidency and the appointment of a leader who joined the party some time ago as vice-president, leaving aside the old faces, Punjab Cabinet Minister Mr. Aman Arora denied any MC’s displeasure and controversy and congratulated the newly elected office bearers and said that this responsibility is an important opportunity for the service of the people and the overall development of the city. He appealed to the new office bearers to work day and night to advance the development works of the city and live up to the expectations of the people.
The Cabinet Minister Mr Aman Arora said that the development that has taken place in Sunam city during the last four and a half years, now the pace of that development will be doubled and quadrupled. He said that in the coming time, the city will be developed on such a large scale, which has never been possible till date. He expressed confidence that the newly elected office bearers and all the councilors will jointly create a new history for the progress of the city.
He further said that the Punjab government will provide all possible support for the development of the city and transparency will be ensured in the development works. He clarified that no matter related to corruption will be tolerated. If any such case comes to light, strictest action will be taken against it.
Mr. Arora also said that all the elected MCs of the Municipal Council are equally entitled and they will be given more respect and honor than the office bearers. He said that only with teamwork and mutual cooperation can the development of the city be brought to new heights.
On this occasion, the newly elected President Manpreet Bansal said that he will work with full honesty and dedication to fulfill the expectations of the city residents. He said that priority will be given to the development and public welfare works of Sunam and the voice of every section will be heard.
Senior Vice President Yadvinder Singh Nirman said that he will contribute to the development of the city by working with the spirit of teamwork. He said that full efforts will be made to make Sunam a model city.
Vice President Meena Rani said that she considers this responsibility given to her as a means of serving the people and will work especially for the progress and cleanliness of the city, basic amenities and the interests of women.
