Big win for Gujarat and Kolkata. In a match played yesterday, Gujarat defeated Bangalore by 8 wickets with 13 balls to spare and today Kolkata defeated Hyderabad a margin of 80 runs.

In a match played yesterday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Gujarat Titans won the toss and invited Royals Challengers Bangalore to bat first.

The Bangalore batsmen seemed to be feeling uncomfortable in front of Gujarat’s bowling. RCB had a very poor start, with 4 of their batsmen getting out after scoring 42 runs in 6.2 overs.RCB batsmen L. Livingstone (40-54), J. Sharma (21-33) and T. David (18-32) contributed runs to take the team’s score to 169 for 8 at the end of 20 overs.

M. Siraj (4-19-3) and R. Sai Kishore (4-22-2) not only troubled the RCB batsmen but also get them out, due to which RCB’s innings remained in every moment troubled.

SRH, who won the toss and elected to bowl, dismissed 2 Kolkata batsmen for 16 runs in 2.3 overs. After which A. Rahane (27-38), A. Raghuvanshi (32-50), V. Iyer (29-60) and R. Singh (17-32)* performed brilliantly to take Kolkata’s score to 200 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

Unlike the first innings, SRH’s team struggled until the end against Kolkata’s bowling. SRH had lost 3 batsmen at 9 runs in the first 2.1 overs. After that, crossing the target of 200 was nothing short of magic.

Apart from K. Mendis (20-27) and H. Klaasen (21-33) no SRH’s batsman could cross the 20-run mark, due to which SRH’s team was all out for 120 runs after playing 16.4 overs, and in the meantime, Kolkata Knight Riders team won by 80 runs.

Kolkata’s V. Chakaravarthy (4-22-3), V. Arora (4-29-3) and A. Russell (1.4-21-2) bowled strongly during this match and played a key role in Kolkata Knight Riders’ victory.
