Pritam Singh (ਪੀਤੂ ਸਰਪੰਚ) was born on 20 October 1986 in the village of Moranwali in Sangrur, in the house of the late Sardar Balbir Singh.
After his father passed away during his childhood, Pritam Singh’s mother worked hard and struggled continuously to continue Pritam’s education.
Considering the circumstances at home, Pritam Singh started learning Electronics work after school hours while studying at (Sant Ishar Singh Senior Secondary School, Chhahar). He passed his matriculation in 2005.
After passing 10th standard, Pritam Singh did 12th from Khalsa School Sunam and ITI from Baba Nand Singh Bhangu Sunam.
Pritam Singh, apart from giving credit for his success to his mother and her struggle, also gives credit to his uncle Sardar Mukhtiar Singh and says that due to his uncle’s inspiration, he obtained a degree from Akal Political College, Rureke, Barnala, after which he started taking contracts for HTLT lines in the Electricity Board.
Pritam Singh says that during the days of struggle, he also worked as a liquor vendor and toll collector for some time.

Pritam Singh who joined Balwant Singh Ramuwalia’s Lok Bhalai Party as a worker in 2009. He was unanimously elected as a member of the village’s panchayat election’s in 2012 due to his good nature and interaction with the people of the village.
Meanwhile, in 2013, the Aam Aadmi Party came into existence, with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann joining it, and inspired by him, Pritam Singh joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
He continued to work as a worker with Bhagwant Mann for 4 consecutive years and was elected as the Sarpanch of village Chhahar during the Panchayat elections held in 2018.
During his 5-year tenure, he brought a storm of development works in Chhahar village. He was successful in utilizing the MP funds of Bhagwant Mann and the funds received from the Panchayat Department of the Punjab Government in a proper manner, due to which he was successful to done many joint works in the village.
After the Aam Aadmi Party government came to power in 2022, his status in politics further increased when he was appointed as the Chairman of the Department of Local Government and Local Bodies by the government.
Pritam Singh (ਪੀਤੂ ਸਰਪੰਚ), who is serving as the Chairman of the Local Government and Local Bodies Department, recalled the struggle of his life during the conversation and gave a message to the youth, saying, “Struggle is an important part of human life. If you are willing to achieve success in any field, then keep trying continuously to achieve your goal. One day the goal will be at your feet.” During the conversation, he said that as a sportsperson, he gives the message to the youth to stay away from drugs and join sports.
