During the investigation of Sangrur Police Administration, 4 kg of white/heroin, 5,50,000/- drug money, 01 pistol Glock 9 MM and 02 live cartridges were seized.
Sangrur, May 6 (Gurmail Kamboj) – District Police Sangrur, acting under the campaign “War on Drugs” launched against drugs and anti-social elements, during the search of District Jail Sangrur, a drug supply racket running from inside the jail was busted from the mobile phones seized. 04 kg of white/heroin, 5,50,000/- drug money, 01 pistol Glock 9 MM and 02 live cartridges were seized have been done.

First, 8 accused Gurvinder Singh son of Gurmeet Singh resident of Peera Ka Bagh District Gurdaspur, Lovejit Singh son of Dilbagh Singh Resident of Gandi Wind, Sikander Singh son of Inderpal Singh resident of Tharu district Tarn Taran, Pargat Singh son of Mehar Singh resident of Tarmala, Sultan Singh son of Arjinder Singh resident of Isapur, Aman Kumar son of Amarjit Singh resident of Jaito, Ajay son of Subhas resident of Kurakshetra (Haryana) and Harpreet Singh son of Lala Singh resident of Ludhiana Hall District Jail Sangrur, case number 75 dated 27.04.2025 under Section 18 of the NDPS Act, 52-A of the Prison Act was registered at Police Station City-1 Sangrur.
He said that during the investigation, the accused were arrested on April 30 on the basis of production warrants and the police remand of these 8 accused was obtained from the Honorable Court. On the basis of whose interrogation, on April 30, Rachpal Singh son of Somnath, resident of Paras Colony, Sunam, Harpreet Singh son of Jagtar Singh, resident of village Cheema, police station Sadar Dhuri, Munna son of Upinder Kumar Yadav, resident of Bapla, police station Sandor, Prashant Maujumdar son of Nirmal Maujumdar, resident of Government Quarters, District Jail, Sangrur Hall, near Tower, Baguana Colony, Sangrur, were named as accused in the above case.
He further informed that on May 01, the accused Prashant Maujumdar (who is a class-4 employee at District Jail, Sangrur) was arrested and on the basis of his interrogation, Banto wife Somnath, resident of Gular, police station Khanori Hall, near Sai Mandir, Paras Colony, Sunam, police station City, Sunam, was named as an accused in the case and arrested on May 01, under the Haja Hasab Code.
On May 2, during the interrogation of the accused Gurvinder Singh alias Baba, Manpreet Singh alias Mani, son of Sukhwinder Singh, resident of Celebration Enclave, Tarn Taran Road, Amritsar Sahib, was named as an accused and on May 2, Hasab Jabta was arrested from Amritsar and 04 kg of white/heroin, 5,50,000/- drug money, 01 pistol Glock 9mm and 02 live rounds were recovered from him. Many other cases are registered against the accused.

050 grams of opium, 06 smart touch phones, 03 keypad phones of Kuchada company, 04 smart watch phones, 04 chargers, 02 headphones, 03 mobile charger leads, 02 smart watch charger leads, 01 battery Kuchada mobile, 04 kilograms of white/heroin, 5,50,000/- drug money, 01 pistol Glock 9mm along with 02 live rounds have been recovered from them.
