Sunam Akali Dal constituency in-charge Rajinder Deepa today left the Akali Dal & joined the Congress in the presence of senior leaders like Congress party president Raja Baring and Partap Singh Bajwa.
Sunam Constituency Update By SNPNEWS.IN: Late Bhagwan Das Arora’s son-in-law Rajinder Deepa, who has been involved in the politics of Sunam constituency for the last 3 decades, today left the Akali Dal Badal and joined the Congress party. Which is being promoted as Deepa’s homecoming.
Rajinder Deepa used to constantly question the performance of the leaders of the Akali Dal Badal and many decisions. Recently, the SNPNEWS.IN team had talked to Rajinder Deepa on the issue of removing the Jathedars of Akal Takht Sahib.
During which his displeasure with the party high command on some issues was clearly visible. After which Deepa’s signs of leaving the party were visible.
After Rajinder Deepa joined the Congress, it seems that the ticket claim has already started among the Congressmen for the 2027 assembly elections.
Apart from Jaswinder Dhiman, who is contesting the 2022 assembly elections from Sunam constituency and is the constituency in-charge, leaders like Raja Birkalan, Manpreet Baraich are already presenting their ticket claims in the Congress.
After Rajinder Deepa joined the party, the main competition for the Congress ticket will be seen between Rajinder Deepa and Jaswinder Dhiman. Recently, there are chances of a tussle in the Congress like in the 2017-2022 elections. The direct benefit of which is seen to be Aam Aadmi Party President and Minister Aman Arora.
After Deepa’s resignation from Akali Dal Badal, no big face is seen for the Akali Dal Badal ticket from Sunam at the moment. The name of Parminder Dhindsa is being taken by the Akali workers in a subdued tone.
But Parminder Dhindsa has once again put an end to all the rumors and said that he is working to strengthen his father’s dream, along with Akali Dal Dhindsa. He said that Sukhbir Singh Badal is accused of violating a Hukamnama of Shri Akal Takht Sahib.
Due to which there is deep resentment in the minds of the Shiromani Akali Dal workers because no true Sikh can even think of violating a Hukamnama. We cannot even think of an alliance with Sukhbir Singh Badal, being ignorant of Akal Takht Sahib.
Apart from this, a big name in Sunam and former Congress constituency in-charge Daman Thind Bajwa seems to be the main contender to contest the elections on behalf of the BJP. Whose own big vote bank is said to be.
Apart from this, in case of no agreement with BJP’s Akali Dal, a large part of Sunam/Longowal/Cheema can go to BJP candidate.
Looking at the current situation and situation of Sunam constituency, it can be said that the Aam Aadmi Party president is bound to face (Rajinder Deepa or Jaswinder Dhiman, Parminder Dhindsa and Daman Thind Bajwa).
