In the Ludhiana West Assembly bypoll election held on June 19, 2025, the Aam Aadmi Party AAP Candidate Sanjeev Arora won the seat, defeating the Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu by a margin of 10,637 votes. The counting of votes took place on June 23, 2025, at Khalsa College for Women in Ludhiana’s Ghumar Mandi, with 14 rounds of counting conducted.
The bypoll was necessitated due to the death of the sitting AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi in January 2025. The voter turnout was recorded at 51.33%, a decrease from the 64% turnout in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections.
Other major candidates included Jiwan Gupta from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Parupkar Singh Ghuman from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), who finished third and fourth, respectively.

Gujarat (Kadi and Visavadar), Kerala (Nilambur), Punjab (Ludhiana West), and West Bengal (Kaliganj). The results, declared on June 23, 2025, are as follows:
Gujarat:
● Kadi (SC): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Rajendra Chavda won, defeating Congress candidate Ramesh Chavda. BJP secured the seat.
● Visavadar: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Gopal Italia won with a margin of 17,554 votes, defeating BJP’s Kirit Patel, with Congress’s Nitin Ranpariya in third.
Kerala:
Nilambur: Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate Aryadan Shoukath won with 77,737 votes, securing a margin of 11,077 votes over the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate P. V. Anvar. The BJP candidate, K. Balakrishnan, came third with 33,609 votes.
West Bengal:
● Kaliganj: All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Alifa Ahmed won with 71,639 votes, leading by a margin of 40,438 votes after 15 of 23 counting rounds, as per early reports.
