At least eight people died and 14 to 20 were injured after an explosion in a reactor at the pharmaceutical unit of Sigachi Industries Private Limited.

At least eight people were killed and 14 to 20 injured in a blast in a reactor at the pharmaceutical unit of Sigachi Industries Private Limited in Pasmallaram Industrial Area of ​​Sangareddy district of Telangana on June 30, 2025.

After the blast, one building of the factory was completely destroyed and another nearby building was also damaged, trapping several workers under the rubble.

The administration has deployed 11 fire tenders at the spot, and rescue operations are underway. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals, many of whom are in critical condition.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the authorities to provide medical assistance to rescue the trapped workers.

The investigation into the blast is underway, and lack of safety measures is emerging as a possible cause.
