Women's World Cup Final 2025: Deepti Sharma's all-round performance helped India become the champion

Women’s World Cup Final: Deepti Sharma’s 58 runs and 5 wickets outweighed the South African captain’s century.

SNPNEWS.IN News (Gurmail Kamboj): The Women’s World Cup Final was played between India and South Africa at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. In which South Africa won the toss and invited India to bat first.

The 104-run partnership for the first wicket between Indian batsmen S Mandhana (58-45) and S Varma (78-87) in 17.4 overs proved them wrong. Thanks to D Sharma (58-58), R Ghosh (24-34), J Rodrigues (37-24) and H Kour (29-20), the Indian team managed to score 298 for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. South African bowlers A khaka (9-58-3), M mlaba (10-47-1), N de klerk (9-52-1) and C tryon (7-46-1) took wickets.

Apart from the century of South African captain L wolvaardt (98-101), no other player could stay on the field for long, due to which the South African team was all out after playing 45.3 overs. Apart from the captain, T brits (35-23), A dercksen (37-35), S luus (31-25) N de klerk (19-18) struggled for some time but could not take the team to victory.

Indian bowling attack Deepti Sharma (9.3-39-5), S Varma (7-36-2), N charani (9-48-1) performed brilliantly and defeated the South African team by 52 runs in the final.

S Varma was awarded the women of the match title for her brilliant performance.

After the women’s cricket team won the World Cup, there has been a wave of joy across the country. Apart from congratulations, BCCI has also announced rewards for the players and coaching staff.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a message of congratulations to the team on the victory. Apart from this, the players are being encouraged from all over the country.
